fBox Console

fBox Console is a virtual analogue mixing console available as both a VST3 plugin and a standalone desktop application. It provides up to 32 mono channel strips, 8 group buses, 2 stereo aux sends with returns, and a stereo master section - all in a single window.

It is not a collection of unrelated processors. It is one integrated desk. Levels, routing, and gain staging are part of the sound, not an afterthought. The console's non-linear summing stages respond to cumulative signal level, producing density and glue as the mix fills out, just as a real analogue desk does.

Every channel strip includes a switchable preamp with four modes, 8 hosted insert slots for fBox VST3 plugins, a single-knob channel compressor, a 4-band vintage-style EQ, 2 aux sends, pan, mute, solo, and a fader. All parameters are automatable through the console's own built-in multi-pass automation engine or via DAW automation.

The 8 group buses each feature a 3-band EQ with high-pass filter, a VCA bus compressor, 4 insert slots, and dual pan controls. The master section adds an analogue summing amplifier, a vari-mu compressor, a diode limiter, and its own 3-band EQ with HPF and 4 insert slots.

The standalone version includes a 16-track Tape Machine - a multitrack tape simulation modelled on a classic recorder, integrated directly into the console signal path. Load audio files onto channels, mix on the console, and bounce the result - no DAW required.

Every instance of fBox Console generates a unique serial number that seeds subtle hardware tolerances across the buses and master section. No two instances sound exactly alike.
