All fBox plugins are VST3 for Windows. fBox Console is also available as a standalone application, and one licence covers both. Mac VST3 and AU, and Pro Tools AAX, coming later.

fBox Console Standalone is a complete mixing environment that runs on its own. Load your audio files, mix on the console, and render the finished mix without a DAW at all. fComp, fEq, fPre, fSat, fMod, fVerb, fDelay and fDrone all load into its 300 insert slots.
So if you use Pro Tools, Logic, or anything else that does not host VST3 on Windows, you can export stems and mix them entirely in the standalone. This is not a cut-down version - it is the whole console, with the whole tape machine, the whole automation system and offline rendering.
Every download is a zip holding the plugin, a one-page start guide and the full PDF manual. Copy the .vst3 file into C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 and rescan plugins in your DAW.

fBox plugins work in any DAW that hosts VST3 on Windows, including Reaper, Cubase and Nuendo, Ableton Live, Studio One, Bitwig Studio, FL Studio, Cakewalk, Ardour, Mixbus and Waveform.
Every plugin works in every VST3 host. The one thing that varies is fBox Console as a VST3, because feeding it all 32 channels at once needs a host that can route many separate inputs into one plugin. Reaper does this cleanly and is the recommended host for it. Hosts that cannot will still run the console on individual tracks and group buses, through its channels, buses, tape machine and master section.
If yours is one of them, there are two good answers. fBox Rack gives you a full console signal path on any single track, bus or master: a 4-mode preamp, 8 plugin slots, 3-mode summing, a 4-band EQ, a bus compressor, bus saturation and a 5-mode console output stage, all in one stereo plugin. For full 32-channel sessions with insert plugins across channels, buses, aux returns and master, with the tape machine active.
Single-core speed matters more than core count. The console mixes on a single audio thread, so processor speed and cache size count for far more than how many cores you have. A fast 8-core will outperform a slower 16-core. The 16-track tape machine is the single most demanding component.
The quality tiers - Eco, Studio and Master - trade fidelity against processing cost. Every fBox plugin has its own setting, as does the console's tape machine, so you can mix them freely across a session: Master on the instances that matter most, Eco on the ones filling in behind. A sensible way to work is Eco while tracking to keep latency low, Studio while mixing, and Master when you bounce.
Use an ASIO driver, not a Windows Audio one. Windows Audio adds its own buffering on top of yours and shares the soundcard with everything else on the machine, so your buffer setting stops reflecting what the hardware is actually doing. Almost every dropout report comes back to this.
If you do get dropouts, raise your audio buffer size. 512 samples suits most systems and 1024 is comfortable for large sessions and for rendering. If they persist at 1024, the session is asking too much of the machine: drop your plugins and the tape machine to Eco, turn the tape machine off when you are not using it, or run fewer channels.
