Please read these terms carefully before purchasing or using any fBox Audio product. By purchasing a licence, activating a trial, or using our software, you agree to these terms.
fBox Audio is operated by Benjamin Murray, based in Scotland, UK, who also trades as flakebelly.

When you purchase an fBox Audio product, you are purchasing a perpetual personal licence to use that software. You are not purchasing ownership of the software itself. This section covers the products you pay for. fMeter is free and is covered separately below.
Your licence permits you to:
Your licence does not permit you to:
One licence covers one person. The three-machine allowance is for computers you use yourself, not for three different people. Licences are non-transferable. You can see which computers are using your licences, and remove one to free up a slot, from the manage your licence page.
Purchases are handled by Dodo Payments, acting as the Merchant of Record. Dodo Payments is the seller for the purposes of the transaction, and their own buyer terms apply to the payment itself alongside these terms. Their name, not fBox Audio, is what appears on your bank statement.
Dodo Payments is a group of companies, and which one invoices you depends on where you are. Their own agreement names the group as Dodo Payments Inc in the United States, Dodope Payments Limited in the United Kingdom, and Sarvapanchhi Technologies Private Limited in India. A United Kingdom buyer is invoiced by Dodope Payments Limited, 3rd Floor Crown House, 151 High Road, Loughton IG10 4LG, VAT number 495 1783 48. Whichever entity it is, your invoice and receipt come from them rather than from us.
The licence you receive, and everything else set out in these terms, is provided by fBox Audio regardless of who processes the payment.
Every fBox Audio plugin you pay for includes a 14-day free trial. To activate a trial, enter your email address in the plugin and follow the verification process. A 6-digit code is sent to your email. Once verified, the trial activates for 14 days on that machine. No payment information is required.
Trial licences are limited to 1 machine and cannot be extended or reactivated on the same email address for the same plugin. During the trial period, the software is fully functional with no restrictions or interruptions.
We strongly recommend activating the trial before purchasing. For fBox Console specifically, we recommend evaluating the trial first - while the Console works in all VST3 hosts, the ability to route multiple tracks simultaneously into the Console depends on your DAW's multichannel routing capabilities, which vary between hosts.
fMeter and fMeter Offline are free. They carry no licence key, no trial period, no machine limit and no expiry. The licence and trial terms above do not apply to them. Install them on as many computers as you like and use them in commercial work without restriction.
They are still our software. You may not resell them, bundle them into anything you sell, or distribute copies yourself. If you want to point somebody at them, link to fboxaudio.com.
Because nothing is paid for, there is nothing to refund. Everything else in these terms applies to them as it does to the rest of the range.
All fBox Audio plugins are provided as Windows VST3 and are compatible with any VST3-accepting DAW. Mac VST3 and AU, and Pro Tools AAX, coming later. For fBox Console multichannel routing guidance, refer to the product manual.
Every fBox plugin you pay for has a free 14-day trial, and we would rather you used it than bought on trust. It is the complete plugin, running in your own software on your own machine, so you can decide before spending anything.
Because the trial exists, purchases are final once a licence key has been issued. Refunds are handled by Dodo Payments under their own policy as merchant of record.
If the software is faulty, or does not do what its product page says it does, that is different. Email info@fboxaudio.com and we will get it working.
None of this affects your statutory rights. Under UK consumer law, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Where it is not, you are entitled to have it repaired or replaced, and to a price reduction of up to the full amount if that cannot be done. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.
fBox Audio provides updates to purchased products at no additional charge. We cannot guarantee updates will be provided indefinitely, but it is our intention to maintain and improve all products in the fBox suite.
Support is provided on a best-efforts basis via info@fboxaudio.com. As an independent developer, response times may vary.
fBox Audio operates a mailing list for product updates, new releases, and other news. By signing up to the mailing list, you consent to fBox Audio collecting and storing your email address for this purpose.
The mailing list is held and sent by Resend, the email service we use, who process your address on our behalf. Signing up requires you to confirm by clicking a link we email to you, so nobody can add your address but you. We will not sell or rent your address, and we will only use it to send you fBox Audio communications. See our Privacy Policy for the detail.
You can unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time by contacting info@fboxaudio.com. Upon unsubscribing, your email address will be deleted from our mailing list records.
