When you activate a trial or purchase a licence, fBox Audio collects and processes the following data:
When you make a purchase, your payment is handled by Dodo Payments, who act as the Merchant of Record and as an independent data controller for your payment data. They are responsible for the processing and storage of that data, and for collecting and remitting VAT. We never see your full payment details. See the Dodo Payments privacy policy for how they handle your data.
Verification emails and licence delivery emails are sent via Resend from noreply@fboxaudio.com.
If you sign up to the fBox Audio mailing list, we collect your email address. The list itself is held by Resend, the service we use to send email, who store it and deliver the messages on our behalf.
Resend acts as a processor for us and does not use your address for its own purposes. Resend is based in the United States, so your address is stored and processed outside the UK - see Data Transferred Outside The UK below.
We use double opt-in. When you sign up we send you a confirmation email, and you are only added to the list once you click the link in it. If you never click, the request is discarded. This means nobody can add your address to our list but you.
Your email address will be used to send you updates about fBox Audio products, including new releases, updates, and other news. We will not sell or rent it, and we will not pass it to anyone other than the service providers described in this policy who process it on our behalf in order to deliver those emails.
You can unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time by contacting info@fboxaudio.com. Upon unsubscribing, your email address will be deleted from our mailing list records.
Signing up is your consent to receive those emails. You can withdraw that consent at any time by unsubscribing or contacting us, and withdrawing it does not affect anything we sent before you did. Your use of fBox Audio products is separately covered by our Terms & Conditions.
This website is served through Cloudflare, which provides security, performance, and content delivery services. Cloudflare may process certain technical data including IP addresses as part of their service. This data is used for security and performance purposes only. Cloudflare's privacy policy can be found at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Some of the services we rely on process data outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States and India.
Where data leaves the UK, those transfers are made under the safeguards permitted by UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Your invoice comes from whichever Dodo Payments company covers your country. Their own agreement names the group as Dodo Payments Inc in the United States, Dodope Payments Limited in the United Kingdom, and Sarvapanchhi Technologies Private Limited in India. Their privacy policy states that they transfer personal data within that group and to processors located anywhere in the world, and that where data leaves the UK for a country without a UK adequacy decision they rely on Standard Contractual Clauses. Their arrangements are set out in the Dodo Payments privacy policy.

We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own purposes. The only third parties who handle it are the service providers named in this policy, who process it on our behalf so we can run the licence system and send the emails you have asked for.
UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for each purpose. Ours are:
fBox Audio operates its own licence system at api.fboxaudio.com, hosted on Cloudflare Workers with a Cloudflare D1 database. The database stores your email address, licence key, licence type, machine identifiers for activated devices, and activation timestamps.
Each plugin includes a 14-day free trial. To activate a trial, you enter your email address in the plugin. A 6-digit verification code is sent to your email via Resend. The code expires after 15 minutes. Once verified, a trial licence is created and an encrypted licence file is stored locally on your machine. The licence file is encrypted using a key derived from your machine identifier, meaning it cannot be transferred to another computer.
Full licences are delivered via email after purchase. After the first activation your licence is validated from an encrypted file on your machine. The plugin also re-checks the licence with our server roughly once a fortnight, at launch, sending only your licence key and machine identifier. A failed connection does not affect the plugin; only a licence that is no longer valid does. You will not be added to any marketing list without your consent.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put things right, but you are not required to.
We retain your email address and licence records for as long as your licence is active, for the purpose of licence management and delivering essential product communications. Trial verification codes expire and are deleted after 15 minutes. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting info@fboxaudio.com.
If you have signed up to our mailing list, we retain your email address until you unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time by contacting info@fboxaudio.com, and your email address will be deleted from our mailing list records.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of fboxaudio.com following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
